My name is Vladimir Kuljak, and this project is more than a website — it’s a bridge between worlds. I was born into the rhythms, stories, and flavors of Serbia, and today I carry that heritage with me in everything I build. This space is my way of preserving the culture I love while sharing it with anyone who wants to understand Serbia beyond headlines and stereotypes.

I created this site to honor the Serbia I know: a place of deep history, bold food, layered identity, and people who carry centuries of resilience in their everyday lives. Why I Built This Site

Serbia is often described as a crossroads, but to me it’s a living archive. Every dish, every city, every tradition carries a story. I wanted a place where those stories could breathe — where food isn’t just a recipe, but a memory; where history isn’t just dates but lived experience; where culture isn’t static, but evolving.

This site blends:

• traditional Serbian recipes passed down through generations
• city guides that capture the spirit of places like Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, and beyond
• cultural insights that explain not just what Serbia is, but why it feels the way it does
• modern perspectives on how Serbia is changing while still holding onto its roots

I build every part of this project with intention.

The writing, the visuals, the tone — all of it reflects the Serbia I grew up with and the Serbia I continue to explore.

I focus on:

• connection — the bridge between the diaspora and the homeland

I believe Serbia is best understood through contrast: medieval fortresses and modern cafés, ancient rituals and new ideas, old recipes and contemporary twists. My work reflects that duality — honoring the past while embracing the future.
